Get back to nature and be inspired by your favourite woodland creatures

Summer’s in the air, the weather’s been very good for a pleasant change and everyone wants to get outdoors and back to nature, and it looks like the interiors world is following suit with this year’s biggest trend, woodland.

Yes that’s right our favourite forest dwelling creatures are the inspiration behind this year’s interior design trend.

Birds have been in vogue for a while, now the focus is on owls.  In terms of animals – foxes, rabbits and badgers are the key animals that epitomise this woodland theme.

So bring a bit of the wilderness indoors to help you get back to nature and keep up to date with the latest trends:

Pet Sounds by Mini Moderns – €49 a roll at Garrendenny Lane.  It features a woodland cacophony of music making creatures. Badgers have never been so cool, or so musical!We will soon have it in stock in the tea towels and cushions too.

And we couldn’t get much more woodland than the gorgeous fabric wall stickers by Love Mae

These stickers will be arriving to Garrendenny Lane Online within a couple of weeks.

I am giving you a preview of some new stock that I will be ordering and then it will arrive in about a month’s time.  Love Mae is the creator of fabulous fabric stickers – stickers for walls and smaller stickers for notebooks etc.  But these are not just fabulous designs: because they are made of fabric they can be moved and moved and moved so not only are they going to withstand little fingers, but the kids will enjoy being creative and imaginative in moving them around.

This is a combination of a couple of packs of stickers and isn’t it exquisite?

And the mini stickers can be used to decorate canvases, notebooks ……

To give you an idea of price, the small sheets will be about €45, the medium sheets €65 and the large sheets €90. The mini sheets (the smallest stickers) will be about €19.50.  I know I will have my hands full keeping my soon to be 6 year old away from the stock!

Maybe it is because I have incredibly untidy children but I love hooks – hooks in the cloakroom, the back hall, the utility, the bathroom, the walk-in wardrobe ….. you name it!  So when I saw Lene Bjerre’s gorgeous selection of  coat hooks, I had to purchase a few for the online shop.
