I tend to add to the Christmas Baubles on our Christmas tree every year. We used to go away for holidays in late November or early December and I’d buy a couple and each year then, they would be reminders of where we were on holiday. I now let the children pick out a new one each year to let them create their memories and of course, with the online shop now, I have baubles that I bought from the various companies and have memories of selecting them at the various trade fairs.
As a result therefore, our Christmas tree is never a co-ordinated affair of baubles of co-ordinated colours but a fabulous miss-mash of memories. Each year too, the children bring home decorations they make in school and ones we make here on a Saturday and they always have to have pride of place!! We still have an angel that Will made in playschool 4 years ago.
With the Late Late toy show next Friday night, thoughts will be turning to Santa in this house very shortly and the Christmas tree seems to come out earlier and earlier each year, I think it was around 13th Dec last year.
Here’s an assortment of baubles for all tastes and pockets:

Little girls bedrooms are a common query and one I dealt with a little while ago in this post but the request this week was for a more grown up look for a 9 year old, one that she would like now but that would last for quite some time so here’s some suggestions.
The damask wallpaper above is very striking and will certainly last the test of time, in such a vivid pink and with the right accessories, it can look as girly and feminine or as grand and formal as you like.

And plenty of mirrors and a second bed for the sleepovers and make-up parties!

I admit the butterflies are perhaps a bit too juvenile but I just felll in love with this photo. It is so floaty and relaxed.

And I thought this bedroom is lovely – serene yet vivid, contemporary and grown up, and with that second bed for friends to sleep over.

Here at Garrendenny Lane, we appreciate how difficult and time-consuming Christmas Shopping can be so we are going to make it so easy for you this year. Every couple of days, I will be posting a different gift idea that just may suit someone on your gift list and not only that, but we are placing an assortment of items together to create a hamper and they will be at a special Christmas price along with free gift wrap
I cannot believe that it is 5 weeks to Christmas from tomorrow. In one way, that is loads of time but in another, those weeks are going to fly. So, I am casting off my ‘Christmas is coming denial’ frame of mind and I am going to embrace it and I hope you will too.
Here’s our first Christmas Hamper - perfect for someone who has a new kitchen or has moved into a new home or who is a cooking and baking enthusiast.

This hamper contains the Joseph Joseph Nest which is perfect for baking, the Twisk, their Chop 2 Pot chopping board which means that sliced veg goes into the saucepan rather than escaping all over the hob, and the rolling pin that virtually guarantees perfect pastry. Priced separately at a total of €89.40, these 4 items are available for €82 along with complimentary gift wrap.

I love these co-ordinates. While I like florals, I would find a multitude of them rather overpowering personally. But I love the combination of floral wallpaper, soft checked headboard, plain pillow with a ruffled edge and that cushion at the front – simply divine. A lovely collection from Jab’s Four Seasons – I think it is my favourite collection this season,
